SHSAOBA Adopts Dining & Kitchen Complex as Flagship Legacy Project

The Executive Council of the Sacred Heart Seminary Akure Old Boys Association (SHSAOBA) has officially adopted the construction of a combined Dining Hall and Kitchen Complex as the Association's flagship legacy project.

The decision was reached during the Executive Council meeting held on 20 November 2024, following extensive deliberations on the infrastructure needs of Sacred Heart Minor Seminary.

Members resolved that the proposed project should comprise both a modern dining hall and a fully equipped kitchen, replacing the earlier proposal for a kitchen-only facility. The Council also agreed that a comprehensive architectural design would be prepared and presented to the Catholic Bishop of Ondo Diocese for approval.

The meeting further discussed sustainable fundraising strategies, encouraging members to continue supporting the Association through annual dues and voluntary donations while maintaining the primary focus on the successful delivery of the legacy project.

Recognising the growing importance of communication, the Executive Council also resolved to strengthen SHSAOBA's Media and Publicity Team by involving more young alumni with expertise in digital communication, media, and technology. Members stressed the need to revitalise the Association's online presence to better engage alumni across the world.

The Council reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the administration of the Seminary under the leadership of the Rector while encouraging all alumni to remain united in promoting the vision and mission of Sacred Heart Seminary.

The meeting concluded with renewed optimism and a shared commitment to ensuring that SHSAOBA continues to make meaningful contributions to the growth and development of its alma mater through purposeful leadership, responsible stewardship, and lasting legacy projects.
